Honda Accord Maintenance Schedule

2019 Accord

The first time you drive your Honda Accord home from the dealership, it’s bound to run like a dream. However, after the miles start to rack up as you cruise around the Bloomington, Ellettsville, and Bedford areas, so will the wear and tear.

Drivers can easily combat wear and tear by taking care of all routine maintenance and repairs—something you can easily do by following this Honda Accord maintenance schedule by the Andy Mohr Honda team!

Schedule Service

Using Maintenance Minder™

The Honda Accord comes with many built-in systems meant to assist the driver and up your convenience. One of them is the Maintenance Minder™ system, which tracks the wear and miles on your vehicle and alerts you when service is due.

Maintenance Minder™ delivers this information to drivers via a simple code of numbers and letters. We’ll break it down for you now, so you always know what is due and when.

The Main Codes

With Maintenance Minder™, there are only two main codes to help keep your Honda Accord in shape:

  • Code A: Perhaps the most frequent code you’ll see pop up in your Accord, this one tells you when it’s time for your next oil and filter change. This should only occur every 7,500 miles or so, but it’s one you don’t want to delay on.
  • Code B: Code B signifies a slew of small checks that should be performed in conjunction with the oil change, to make sure everything is running properly.
    • Check the entire brake system, including rotors, pads, and calipers.
    • Inspect the car’s suspension as well as the steering column and fluid.
    • Make sure there are no leaks or tears in the brake lines and hoses.
    • Inspect the exhaust system.
    • Check out all other fuel lines and connections that may have torn.

The Sub-Codes

There are a number of one-off jobs that will need to be performed alongside those major maintenance items. These are displayed using the following sub-codes:

  1. Rotate and rebalance your tires. This will ensure that the tread wears evenly on them as you get the most life possible.
  2. Check the drive belt. If it has slipped at all, the mechanic should readjust. The dust and pollen filter should also be replaced. You can order parts online with us!
  3. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) fluid will need to be changed.
  4. Inspect the valve clearance, as some gunk may have built up at this point. Your spark plugs should also be changed to ensure strong engine firing.
  5. The engine coolant should be flushed and replaced.
  6. Your brake fluid will need to be replaced. If you delay too long on this, your brakes may turn unresponsive.
