When you buy a brand new Honda Pilot, you do so with the expectation that you’re going to keep it for a while, right? Well there is no better way to ensure that your car maintains its current level of functioning in the Bloomington, Ellettsville, or Bedford area than to adhere to the manufacturer’s suggested maintenance schedule.

You see, every car hits certain milestones on the odometer that indicate when specific maintenance tasks should be performed, and the Pilot is no different. We can help you keep up with these milestones at Andy Mohr Honda, by way of our service department. Keep your car running like the day you bought it, with a little help from us.

Suggested Service Milestones Honda Pilot service

With your Honda Pilot comes certain expectations for when service should be required. These numbers may vary if you’re noticing something unexpected from your car or if your driving conditions are more strenuous than that of basic travel. Here’s what to expect for the maintenance of your Pilot.

  • 7,500 miles – At this milestone, your service technician is basically going to perform an oil change, which entails swapping out the used oil filter for a new one, draining the old oil, and refilling with new. Your vehicle will also receive a tire rotation during this visit.
  • 15,000 miles – During this appointment, you can expect to receive another oil change and another tire rotation, but this time your service technician will also inspect several other parts of your vehicle including the tie rod ends and the ball joints. At this point your dust filter will also be replaced.
  • 25,500 miles – This is a minor appointment where your service tech will perform the same functions performed during your 7,500-mile appointment, simply in an effort to keep your vehicle current with oil changes. These frequent oil changes offer greater engine life while the routine tire rotations promote longer tire life as well.
  • 30,000 miles – This is the milestone that offers the first large service call for your Pilot as the service technician will be inspecting your entire brake system, your fuel lines, your exhaust system, the vehicle belts, and the suspension.
  • 37,500 miles – Once again, this is simply an oil change and tire rotation appointment where the services from your previous appointments will be repeated. However, these appointments are also necessary for your vehicle’s health and maintenance. Honda battery service
  • 45,000 miles – At this appointment, your service technician will likely be replacing your engine coolant and inspecting some other parts of your vehicle, though nothing as major as your 30,000-mile appointment.
  • 60,000 miles – This is another big one, during which your service technician will inspect the battery and transmission. While inspecting the transmission, a fluid flush will be performed and then fresh transmission fluid will be added.
