Before heading to our dealership, it’s important that you do some prior research on your vehicle to get to know its market value. There are a few ways you can do so, which include:

• Using valuation tools—We offer a Value Your trade tool to all our customers! By filling out some information, you can receive an accurate value for your vehicle.
• Check local listings—You can even peruse our used car inventory or other local listings to see how much your particular model is selling for on the market.

Once you find all of these values, it’s important to compare prices to see what the middle ground price would be—this will help in negotiating if you choose to do so.

Schedule an Appraisal

Whether you’re trading it in or selling it, our appraisers will need to do a thorough inspection of your vehicle to calculate your car’s worth. It’s important to set up the appraisal a couple of months in advance while you figure out a new purchase or lease.

Prep Your Vehicle for Sale or Trade In

As you wait for the appraisal appointment to come, you can spruce up your vehicle. Making your car look sparkling and brand-new will help with its overall value—so will keeping it up to date on its maintenance.

If you choose to clean up your ride yourself, you can take care of the following:

• Clean the exterior—You can give your car a good scrub and a wax before bringing it into our dealership. If you have any dents, paint scratches, or dings, you may want to consider having those fixed as well.
• Clean the interior—Now would be the time to vacuum the floors and carpets, shampoo the upholstery, dust all surfaces and displays, and clean all windows.
• Take it in for maintenance—A well-operating vehicle will receive a higher value than one that hasn’t been well-maintained. Take care of those tire rotations and oil changes ahead of the appraisal.

Accept an Offer & Turn Your Vehicle In

After the appraisal, a salesperson will give you your trade-in value. If you want to negotiate, our team will be more than happy to do so. Feel free to bring all service records and any research you conducted to help in negotiation. Don’t be afraid to walk if an offer hasn’t come up that you’re completely comfortable with.

However, if you do accept an offer, you can schedule a drop-off time. After that, you can roll out in your new car!
