Honda Odyssey: MPG, Towing Capacity, Horsepower
The engine specifications in the Honda Odyssey are designed to offer families an attractive mesh of power, and fuel economy. To achieve this goal, Honda has outfitted their popular minivan with numerous features.
First up is the engine, which is a 3.5L V6 that can generate 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This impressive torque, combined with additions like the Variable Cylinder Management™ and Active Control Engine Mount System, helps produce up to 3,500 pounds of maximum towing capacity.
This overall power is great for hauling the entire family and their supplies upstate for the weekend, and the efficiency of the Odyssey means you can bypass plenty of gas stations along the way. The EPA-estimated fuel economy checks in at 19 city MPG/ 28 highway MPG.1
Much of that efficiency is due to the drivetrain, which varies between your choice of a 9-speed automatic transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Exterior Dimensions
When you think minivan, you likely think spacious or cavernous. The 2019 Honda Odyssey is both of these things, and the exterior dimensions support that notion.
For example, the length of the vehicle reaches 203.2 inches. As for the height, it checks in at 68.3 inches, while the width is a generous 78.5 inches.
2019 Honda Odyssey Interior Dimensions
With such a large exterior, it comes as no surprise that the interior of the Honda Odyssey is terrific for storing cargo or making sure each passenger has ample space to stretch out.
The Odyssey has three rows of seats, and they all offer plenty of legroom with 40.9 inches in the front and second row and 38.1 inches in the third row. All in all, this minivan fits up to eight passengers and has an available 163.6 cubic feet of passenger volume.
As for cargo space, you have some options to play with. How you adjust the seats will determine how much space is available.
So, there’s either 32.8 cubic feet or 38.6 cubic feet with all three rows standing. Just behind the second row, you’ll have either 88.8 cubic feet or 92 cubic feet. Finally, if you fold the back two rows down, you’re left with between 144.9 and 158 cubic feet.
The Honda Odyssey safety package comes equipped with a ton of features to keep you and the family as safe as can be. Check them out!
