Honda Odyssey Maintenance Schedule

You did it—you bought a new car, and you’re crazy about your Honda Odyssey! It runs like a dream and offers all the space you need for your growing family in the Bedford, Ellettsville, and Bloomington areas. As such, you’ve probably grown pretty attached to it, which means you’ll want to keep it running like it did when you first drove it home.

As one of the most important responsibilities of owning a car, you’ll want to make sure that you’re having your vehicle serviced at the designated manufacturer milestones. After all, keeping up with all the small service checks at regular intervals will ensure that your Odyssey stays in excellent shape for a very long time. Maintenance Schedule  

With every manufacturer, these service intervals will slightly differ. However, when it comes to your Honda Odyssey, you’ll find that these are the important milestones. When you’re approaching these numbers, give us a call to schedule your service.

7,500 Miles (and every 7,500 miles thereafter)

This will be the first oil change for your Odyssey, as newer models use a synthetic oil that lengthens the interval at which your oil must be replaced. In addition to swapping out your oil and oil filter for brand-new counterparts, your service technician will also:

• Inspect brakes
• Lubricate the throttle
• Check fluid levels
• Inspect tires and inflate to desired pressure
• Rotate tires

15,000 Miles (and every 15,000 miles thereafter) 

During this service, there will be a great deal of inspections performed to ensure that everything is functioning as it should. Your service tech will also go over some of the replaceable items in your Honda Odyssey to assess whether they’ll need replaced, at which point the tech will replace them for you. Additionally, your service technician will:

• Replace oil drain plug gasket
• Inspect undercarriage, crank case filter, shocks and struts, throttle linkage, distributor cap, AC/heater, brake system, lights and wipers, fuel systems, and steering system
• Service the transmission
• Check parking brake
• Replace air filter
• Replace sparkplugs
• Replace AC filter
• Check windshield-washer system

30,000 Miles (and every 30,000 miles thereafter) 

While your technician has your car in the shop during this appointment, there will be a lot of replacements going on under the hood of your vehicle. They will also inspect some other systems that may not have been inspected during your 15,000-mile service appointment, as well as change your oil and oil filter. In addition to these services, your vehicle will also undergo the following:

• Replace engine air filter, engine coolant, AC filter, fuel filter
• Inspect drive belts (adjusting as needed), exhaust systems, ball joints and dust covers, as well as check for leaks
• Lubricate chassis
• Take out for a road test
• Service PCV valve, battery, and wires
