Honda Ridgeline vs Chevy Colorado: Performance

Performance

When you’re driving a vehicle, you want to make sure you have plenty of performance, even in the base trim. The Chevy Colorado is here to deliver with its standard 2.5L 4-Cylinder engine with up to 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. This engine delivers some solid oomph when you need to climb over obstacles.

For more of a sporty feel when you’re driving down the trail, though, the 2021 Ridgeline is here to provide with its standard 3.5L V6 engine. You’ll really get moving with up to 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque at your disposal. This means when you really want to kick up dust, you’ll have the engine power you need to carve up the trail.

The engineering prowess of the Honda Ridgeline goes beyond horsepower and torque. Every Ridgeline trim comes with Eco Assist™, which is a little green button on the driver’s side of your truck. When engaged, this button limits certain performance features to maximize fuel economy. And with comparable gas mileage to the Chevy Colorado, the Honda can truly help you get the most out of your MPG.

In the Ridgeline, you can also cut out tons of ambient noise with the standard Active Noise Cancellation™ system. When the system notices any kind of noise is inside the cabin that is a direct result of VCM cylinder deactivation or exhaust noise, the system broadcasts a no-noise signal through the audio system that cuts the sound off. This will work even if your audio system isn’t in use.

A feature similar to this is not found in the Chevy Colorado.

The transmission in the Honda Ridgeline is also a little more powerful than that in the Chevy Colorado. The Ridgeline offers a standard nine-speed automatic transmission in all of its trims. The Colorado, by comparison, offers an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Advanced Driver Assistance Features

Advanced Driver Assistance Features

You’re probably going to spend a lot of time on the road and the Honda Ridgeline and Chevy Colorado are well equipped to help keep you safe and comfortable. Both vehicles are equipped with Forward Collision Warning, which monitors the road and produces an audible alert when you’re coming up too quickly on another vehicle. The Forward Collision Warning is standard in the Honda and is available in the Chevy.

You’ll find that the Honda Ridgeline is a little bit more well equipped, though, with its available Adaptive Cruise Control system. Turn this on and your vehicle will keep a set, safe distance behind traffic while you’re in cruise control. This makes it easy for you to stay in cruise control longer, meaning you don’t have to deal with as much driving fatigue during long trips.

These features are part of Honda Sensing®, a suite of safety technologies found in the Honda Ridgeline. Other standard features you can find in the Ridgeline include:

  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Lane Keeping Assist System
  • Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor (standard in all Ridgeline trims except the Sport)

In the Chevy Colorado, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information, and many of the features you’ll find standard in the Honda are available but not standard.

Take seating comfort to the next level with the Honda Ridgeline. This truck comes standard with a driver’s seat with two-position memory in all trims except the Sport. You can set two different driver’s seat preferences that the seat will remember and automatically adjust to whichever position you prefer every time you get behind the wheel of the vehicle. The Chevy Colorado doesn’t have memory seats.

2021 Ridgeline vs 2021 Colorado: Features

Features

Your journeys will take you to a lot of different climates, and you want to be prepared for anything Mother Nature might put in your way. The Chevy Colorado comes well equipped with its available Automatic Climate Control system. This technology maintains a steady temperature in your cabin, so you don’t have to change the fan speeds while you drive.

In order to make sure you and all your passengers get the comfort they need, the Honda Ridgeline goes the extra mile here and gives us an available Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control. This feature will automatically manage your cabin temperature in three separate parts of the cabin, so everyone will feel satisfied with the cabin temperature.

Part of enjoying your daily trips is being able to listen to music, podcasts, receive and send calls and texts, and so much more, with just the sound of your voice. The Honda Ridgeline and the Chevy Colorado afford you the opportunity to enjoy the latest in in-vehicle technology with standard Bluetooth® connectivity, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™.

Each vehicle also offers a customizable 8-inch LCD touchscreen display that will be able to show you the most important features of your phone. You can switch between apps, songs, texts, calls, and even see your maps on the screen. And while both vehicles come with heavy-hitting audio systems, if you want more power, the Honda can give you a little more.

In the Ridgeline, drivers have the option to add a 540-watt, 8-speaker audio system, where the available audio system in the Chevy only has seven speakers. What’s more, the Ridgeline comes with a truck bed audio system, so you can blast your tunes outside of your truck and enjoy them while you work, relax, and so much more. The Chevy Colorado doesn’t have a feature like this.
